ViennaUP is already a fixture in the start-up scene events calendar. The festival boasts a sparkling programme aimed at bringing people together and providing them with both a space to network, swap notes and debate, and a stage to present new ideas and innovative products – and much more besides!

The whole thing will take place in a range of different formats, including presentations, panel discussions, workshops, hackathons and pitch competitions, to be held all over town.

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is very proud to be involved again this year, and has invited delegations from all over the world to ViennaUP. This will afford movers and shakers from the international start-up scene an excellent opportunity to find out more about Austria as a start-up ecosystem and business location, as well as to make valuable contacts.

The Connect Day is ViennaUP’s core matchmaking event, and this gathering of start-ups, companies and investors is intended as a space to promote innovation, forge links, boost cooperation and present innovative products, services and ideas.

This year’s pre-pitches for the Born Global Champion Awards promise to be a very special opportunity to find out more about innovation from Austria. The prize is awarded to ten Austrian start-ups and scale-ups that have already achieved early success on international markets, and the pre-pitch will see them presenting their innovative ideas to the public – an excellent chance to see Austrian inventiveness in action.

The Austrian final of the “Start-up World Cup” will once again be held at ViennaUP this year, and the victors will go on to represent Austria at the global final in San Francisco in October.

There is something very special in store for the official opening, as Vienna is celebrating a Strauss bicentennial – this year is the 200th anniversary of the birth of composer Johann Strauss the Younger. ViennaUP will also be marking this jubilee with an invitation to a waltz workshop, and the evening promises to be a fantastic start to an interesting, stimulating and varied week, whether you choose to take to the dance floor or not.

Detailed information about the evening, including the programme and a registration form, is available from the Vienna UP25 event website.
