The Austrian region of the Salzkammergut is renowned for its fabulous scenery and diverse culture, making it a great place to live or go on holiday.

The Salzkammergut is also a great place for tinkering, crafting and inventing things, and companies with international reputations as global leaders in their sector have found a home in the area. They are developing excellent products; some have been established for a great many years, but what makes all of them successful is a magical blend of tradition and innovation.

The European Capital of Culture 2024 title has provided a perfect opportunity to highlight a range of different aspects of the region. The “Culture meets Internationalisation and Innovation” video project is concentrating on the area as a business location and has turned its lens on 14 internationally successful companies. What makes them – and the Salzkammergut – so unique?
