Passing the baton at the US capital office
After five eventful years in Washington DC, Irene Lack-Hageneder is bidding farewell to her post. Over the past half‑decade, she has significantly strengthened the ties between Austria and the United States, supported countless Austrian companies in their international ventures, and promoted mutual economic exchange.
“Even in turbulent times, it has always been a great pleasure and honor for me to serve in this role and to support Austrian companies in in the USA,” she says.
The whole ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Team thanks Irene warmly for her dedication, expertise, and the many achievements she leaves behind. She will remain connected to the Americas, taking up her new position in Vienna as Regional Manager for North and Latin America.
Succeeding her in the role is Thomas Moschig, who joins the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA US team coming from the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber’s HQ in Vienna. Over the course of his career, Thomas has served as Commercial Attaché in Tehran, Budapest, and Mexico City, where he gained expertise in fostering international economic relations. Most recently, he held the position of Innovation Manager within the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Vienna team, focusing on the promotion of Austrian innovation and cross-border collaboration.
“Every new beginning holds its own magic. At present, Washington is both economically and politically at the centre of global attention, which makes this magic all the more exciting. I am very much looking forward to my future tasks and am already excited about making personal contact with our business community,” he notes.
